An Act to amend the Aged, Destitute and Infirm Persons Relief Act 1966

(13 November 1981)

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

1. Short Title and commencement

(1) This Act may be cited as the Aged, Destitute and Infirm Persons Relief Amendment Act 1981 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Aged, Destitute and Infirm Persons Relief Act 1966 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act").

(2) This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of August 1981.

2. Rate of Pension

Section 5 of the principal Act (as substituted by Section 3 of the Aged, Destitute and Infirm Persons Relief Amendment Act 1979) is hereby repealed and the following section substituted:-

"5. Rate of pension
Pensions shall be paid as from the first day of August 1981, at the rate of three hundred and sixty four dollars per annum".

3. Provision for Relief

Section 15 of the principal Act (as substituted by Section 2 of the Aged, Destitute and Infirm Persons Relief Amendment Act 1980) is hereby amended by omitting from sub-section 5 the words "four dollars" and substituting the words "four dollars and fifty cents".

This Act is administered by the Department of Internal Affairs.
