An Act to amend the provisions of the Cook Islands Industrial and Labour Ordinance 1964 in regard to minimum wages

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of the Cook Islands in session assembled, and by authority of the same, as follows:

1. Short Title - This Act may be cited as the Cook Islands Industrial and Labour Ordinance Amendment Act 1978 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Cook Islands Industrial and Labour Ordinance 1964 (hereinafter referred to as "the Ordinance").

2. Minimum Wages - Subsection (2) of section 32 of the Ordinance is hereby repealed and the following new subsection substituted;

"(2) For the purposes of the last preceding sub-section the minimum rates shall be such rates as may from time to time be determined by the Minister of Labour and Commerce and shall be applicable from such date, whether retrospective or not, as he may further determine."
