An Act to amend the Ministry of Health Act 1991

(21 May 1993

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Ministry of Health Amendment Act 1992-93, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Ministry of Health Act 1991 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act").

2. Primary objectives of the Board

Section 6 of the principal Act is amended, by -

(a) re-numbering the existing section 6 as subsection "(1)" of section 6; and
(b) adding after that subsection, the following new subsection -

• "(2) In the carrying out of its objectives, the Board shall give effect to any policy directives given to the Board by the Minister."

3. Amendments to Schedule

Part I of the Schedule to the principal Act is amended, by deleting the words "Nursing Practice Act 1989" and substituting the words "Nurses Act 1986".

This Act is administered by the Ministry of Health.
