An Act to amend the Marine Resources Act 1989

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. Short Title and commencement - (1) This Act may be cited as the Marine Resources Amendment Act 1990 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Marine Resources Act 1989 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act").

(2) This Act shall come into force on a date to be appointed by the Minister and notified by publication in the Gazette.

2. Foreign Fishing Vessels - Section 12 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words "a fine not exceeding $100,000" from subsection (7) and substituting the following words "a minimum fine of not less than $100,000".
