An Act to amend the Outer Islands Local Government Act 1987, by adding the new constituency of Vaipeka for the island of Aitutaki

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

1. Short Title and commencement

(1) This Act maybe cited as the Outer Islands Local Government Amendment Act 1994-95, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Outer Islands Local Government Act 1987 (hereinafter called "the principal Act").

(2) This Act shall come into force and have application to the first election of members of the Aitutaki Island Council held after the date on which this Act is assented to by the Queen's Representative.

2. Amendment to First Schedule

The First Schedule to the principal Act is amended by deleting the island, constituencies, and number of elected members referred to in the First Part of the Schedule to this Act, and substituting the island, constituencies and numbers of elected members set out in the Second Part of the Schedule to this Act.

This Act is administered by the Prime Minister's Department
