An Act to amend the Outer Islands Local Government Act 1987

(24 November 1995)

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. Short Title and commencement

(1) This Act may be cited as the Outer Islands Local Government Amendment Act 1995 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Outer Islands Local Government Act 1987 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act").

(2) This Act shall come into force on the 1st December 1995.

2. Interpretation

Section 2 of the principal Act is amended, by -

(a) deleting the definition of "Minister" and substituting the following -

• "Minister" means the Minister responsible for the Ministry of Outer Islands Development;"

(b) deleting the definition of "Secretary" and substituting the following-

• "Secretary" means the Secretary of the Ministry of Outer Islands Development."

This Act and the principal Act are administered by the Ministry of Outer Islands Development
