An Act to amend the Personal Property Securities Act 2017 to extend the period during which transitional provisions apply.

The Parliament of the Cook Islands enacts as follows—

1. Title

This Act is the Personal Property Securities Amendment Act 2020.

2. Commencement

This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it is assented to by the Queen’s Representative.

3. Principal Act amended

This Act amends the Personal Property Securities Act 2017 (the principal Act).

4. Schedule 4 amended

In Schedule 4, clause 1, omit the definition of transitional period and substitute:

“transitional period means the period beginning on the day of commencement of this Act and ending at the close of 6 August 2020”.

5. Revocation

The Personal Property Securities (Transitional Matters) Regulations 2020 are revoked.

This Act is administered by the Ministry of Justice.
