An Act to amend the Public Service Amendment (No.3) Act 1980-81

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Public Service Amendment Act 1990 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Public Service Act 1975 and subsequent amendments.

2. Repeal

Clause 11 of the Public Service Amendment (No.3) Act 1980-81 is hereby repealed and substituted by the following -

"11. Cabinet may from time to time review salary and wage levels within the Public Service and may, in its discretion, grant an increase in an amount which it determines, to any particular group or class of salary or wage earners within the Public Service from that date and in doing so, Cabinet will give recognition to -

• (a) the cost of living index in the previous twelve months; and
• (b) the availability of public monies to grant an increase; and
• (c) any other matter it considers relevant."
