PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION

AMENDMENT TO THE 2001 APPROPRIATION DECREE

WHEREAS pursuant to section 85 of the Constitution, the executive authority of the State vests in me;

AND WHEREAS pursuant to section 96 of the Constitution, the executive authority may be exercised by me only on the advice of the Cabinet or a Minister or other body or authority authorised under the Constitution;

AND WHEREAS I am satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest to return the country to parliamentary and democratic rule through the calling of a general election;

AND WHEREAS I am satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest to amend the 2001 Appropriation Decree No. 32 of 2000 for the purposes of conducting the August General Elections;

NOW THEREFORE, acting on the advice of the Cabinet, I make this Proclamation to amend the 2001 Appropriation Decree No. 32 of 2000-

Citation

1. This Decree may be cited as the 2001 Appropriation (Amendment) Decree 2001.

Schedule 1 amended

2.-(1) Schedule 1 to the 2001 Appropriation Decree (No. 32 of 2000) is amended as shown in the Schedule to this Decree.

(2) For the purposes of this Decree, $8,063,082 in Standard Expenditure Group (SEG) 1 in Head 50 is transferred to SEG 7 in the same Head.
