APPOINTMENT OF PUBLIC HOLIDAYS – 2009
IN exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 65 of the Employment Relations Promulgation 2007 and Regulation 42 of the Employment Relations (Administration) Regulations 2008, I appoint the following days for the celebration of public holidays in 2009:
| 1. | New Year's Day | Thursday, 1st January |
| 2. | Prophet Mohammed's Birthday | Monday, 9th March |
| 3. | Youth Day. | Monday, 23rd March |
| 4. | Good Friday | Friday, 10th April |
| 5. | Easter Saturday | Saturday, 11th April |
| 6. | Easter Monday | Monday, 13th April |
| 7. | Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna Day | Friday, 29th May |
| 8. | Queen's Birthday | Monday, 15th June |
| 9. | Fiji Day | Monday, 12th October |
| 10. | Diwali | Monday, 19th October |
| 11. | Christmas Day | Friday, 25th December |
| 12. | Boxing Day | Monday, 28th December |
And further in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 64 of the Employment Relations Promulgation 2007, the declared public holidays must be kept as public holidays in all workplaces in Fiji.
