SCHEDULE - AMENDMENT OF ASYLUM SEEKERS (REGIONAL PROCESSING CENTRE) ACT 2012

Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Asylum Seekers (Regional Processing Centre) (Amendment) Act 2014.

2. Commencement

This Act commences 7 days after certification by the Speaker.

3. Act Amended

The Schedule amends the Asylum Seekers (Regional Processing Centre) Act 2012.

SCHEDULE – AMENDMENT OF ASYLUM SEEKERS (REGIONAL PROCESSING CENTRE) ACT 2012

[1] Amendment of section 15 (6) (b)

Insert after the word 'children', the words 'or other vulnerable persons'.

Clause will now read,

'a member or employee of, or a person working as a volunteer for, a body corporate established wholly or predominantly for advancing the welfare and protection of children or other vulnerable persons.'
