ARRANGEMENT OF REGULATIONS

In Exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 18 and 20 of the Animals Act 1982 and all other powers in this regard, the Cabinet has made the following Regulation –

PART I– PRELIMINARY SHORT TITLE

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Animals Regulations 2000.

INTERPRETATION

2. In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires – "the Act" means the Animals Act 1982.

APPLICATION OF THE ACT

3. The provisions of the Act, other than the provisions relating to –

(a) The licensing of dogs kept in Nauru; and

(b) The prohibitions in respect of importation of dogs under Section 13(2), are hereby extended to all other animals expect the following:-

(c) Bees of any species or sub-species;

(d) Any other animal the importation of which is prohibited by the Cabinet under Section 13(1) of the Act.

FEES

4. Any fee payable in respect of an application or licence under the Act or these Regulations shall be the fee set out in Schedule 1 in respect of that application or licence.

REPEAL

5. The Animal (Prescribed Fees) Regulations 1996 are repealed.
