SCHEDULE 1


Cabinet makes the following Regulations under section 102(2)(b) of the Births Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 2017:

  1. Citation

These Regulations may be cited as the Births Deaths and Marriages Registration (Registration of Adoptions) Regulations 2019.


  1. Commencement

These Regulations come into effect on the day they are notified in the Gazette.


  1. Notice of adoption order

For the purpose of section 27(1) of the Act, the prescribed form for a notice to the Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages of an adoption Order by the Resident Magistrate is in Form 1 of Schedule 1.


  1. Register of Adoptions

For the purpose of Part 4 of the Act, the records to be kept and maintained by the Registrar shall be as set out in Form 2 of Schedule 1.


  1. Request for information

For the purpose of section 33 of the Act, the prescribed form for an application for a request for information or inspection of the Adoption Register is in Form 3 of Schedule 1.

  1. Fee

Schedule 2 prescribes the type of fee for the purpose of Section 33(b) of the Act.
