FUEL SALES TAX (AMENDMENT) ACT 1994

AN ACT
TO AMEND THE FUEL SALES TAX ACT (CAP. 72)

[20th June, 1994.]

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Fuel Sales Tax (Amendment) Act 1994.

(2) The Fuel Sales Tax Act (Cap. 72), as amended, is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

2. Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended by:-

(i) renumbering the provision as sub-section (1);
(ii) deleting the figure "2s" from paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) and substituting therefore the figure "3s";
(iii) inserting the following as sub-section (2):

• "(2) The purpose of this is increase on the rate of fuel sales tax being for repair and maintenance of roads and shall be deposited into a Separate Bank Account called "Road Maintenance Fund Account".
