NEWSPAPER REGULATIONS 2003

NEWSPAPER ACT 2003


IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 20 of the Newspaper Act 2003 the Minister responsible for Communications, with the Consent of Cabinet, makes the following regulations:


1. Short Title


These Regulations may be cited as the Newspaper Regulations 2003.


2. Interpretation


In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires—


"Act" means the Newspaper Act 2003;


"alien" means a person who is not a Tongan subject.


3. Application


(1). Every application for a licence under section 9 of the Act shall be in Form 1 of Schedule I to these Regulations.


(2). Every application for a licence under section 10 of the Act shall be in Form 2 of Schedule I to these Regulations.


4. Section 9 licence


A licence granted under section 9 of the Act shall be in Form 3 of Schedule I to these Regulations.


5. Section 10 licence


A licence granted under section 10 of the Act shall be in Form 4 of Schedule I to these Regulations.


6. Fees


(1) The fees shall be as prescribed in Schedule II of these Regulations.


(2). All fees prescribed in Schedule II of these Regulations are nonrefundable. Made at Nuku‘alofa this 16th day of December, 2003.
