PROVIDENT FUND (AMENDMENT) ACT 2020

AN ACT TO AMEND THE PROVIDENT FUND ACT TO PROVIDE FOR EMERGENCY RELIEF BENEFITS DURING A STATE OF EMERGENCY

Commencement [24th December 2020]

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Provident Fund (Amendment) Act 2020.

2 Amendment to section 20

Section 20(1) is amended by inserting a new subparagraph (j) as follows;

"(j) emergency relief benefit, that is to say a specific sum payable to a member during a period of declared state of emergency, taking into account the likely impacts on the retirement benefits available to each member at retirement.
