IMMIGRATION ACT (CAP 77)


Commencement [14th January 1991]


IN EXERCISE of powers conferred under section 18 of the Immigration Act, the Minister makes the following Regulations.


1 Citation and Commencement


These Regulations may be cited as the Immigration (Arrival Card) Regulations 1991 and shall come into operation on the date of publication.


2 Amended Arrival Card


The Immigration Regulations 1985, are hereby amended by repealing the Arrival Card in form 5 of the Schedule and substituting therefor the Arrival Card forming the Schedule to these Regulations.

Instructions: This card should be completed by all persons entering Tuvalu (including residents of Tuvalu). Please answer all questions in BLOCK LETTERS.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY TO TUVALU


1 Unless you fall into the exempt categories listed in the box or have already obtained a permit from the Immigration Officer, you will probably require a permit to enter Tuvalu.


Exempt Categories

1. Citizens

2. Employees with or on behalf of
Government of Tuvalu and families

3. Accredited Diplomats and families

2. The Immigration Officer will usually permit entry for a maximum of 30 days without any fee. This permit is for Social, Domestic and Tourist reasons. Working or pursuing a vocation is prohibited.

3. A visitor who has came to work for a non-Government agency, for example, a sales representative, must seek authority to work and pay a $10.00 fee.

4. A Visitor may renew permit for a further 30 days on payment of a $10.00 fee.

5. A person wishing to reside who has not already obtained a permit may only be granted a Visitors permit on arrival, and at the expiry date of that visitors permit will have to leave Tuvalu if his application to reside is not approved.
